For sale is a men’s pre-owned vintage Universal Genève Compax reference 22278 manual-wind 3-register chronograph. The watch does not have the original box or papers, so the exact year it was made/sold is unknown, but it is estimated to date from approximately 1945 – 1955. It is powered by the Universal Genève Caliber 281 manual-wind movement with 17 jewels.

As part of a routine preventive overhaul, we professionally serviced the movement in July 2026. During the service, the watch was completely disassembled, thoroughly cleaned, properly lubricated, timed, and adjusted for accuracy. The movement is running properly and is backed by our 1-year warranty for your peace of mind.

Condition: The watch is vintage and pre-owned, so you can expect to see light scratches and scuff marks throughout the case, bezel, and crystal. The dial and hands have developed an attractive patina from natural aging and are non-luminous. The two-piece leather strap is pre-owned and shows normal wear, including some memory from being worn, and the stainless steel buckle also has light scuffs.

Sizing: The watch is commonly marketed as a 34mm model; however, when measured with our digital calipers, the case measures approximately 33.5mm in diameter. It also measures approximately 40.6mm lug-to-lug, 18mm in lug width, and 13.1mm in thickness.
