Description
For sale is a circa-1960s vintage Gallet Multichron 12 Chronograph. This watch features a beautiful natural tropical brown dial with minty green, “toothpaste”-toned lume. Both the dial and lume are original. The watch is fitted on a non-Gallet two-piece leather strap. Powering the watch is the 17-jewel Excelsior Park Caliber 40-68 manual-wind movement. The watch is authentic and was recently serviced by us at the end of July as part of a routine preventive overhaul. During the service, the movement was fully disassembled, cleaned, oiled, timed, and adjusted for accuracy. It is currently running accurately and properly and comes backed by us with a 1-year warranty.
Important Note: Please note that the dial sits ever so slightly off-center, which is common on some vintage watches. The original dial feet are intact and correctly positioned, and there is no evidence that the dial has been modified or incorrectly installed.
Condition: The watch is vintage and has naturally shown signs of age on the dial and hands. It is also pre-owned, so you can expect to see imperfections such as scratches, scuffs, and minor dents on the case and bezel. The acrylic crystal also has some fine scuffs. The two-piece strap and steel buckle are non-Gallet but are in good condition.
Sizing: The case measures approximately 37mm in diameter, 20mm in lug width, 12.10mm in thickness, and 44.4mm from lug tip to lug tip. The strap can accommodate wrists up to 7.5 inches. However, due to the overall size of the watch, we feel it is best suited for wrists under, or just shy of, 7 inches. Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference.
