Description

For sale is a vintage LeCoultre Futurematic wristwatch, circa 1951-1958, featuring a 10K gold-filled case with distinctive long, curved lugs. The two-piece snap-back case has an elegant profile, with an unusual rear-mounted setting crown that leaves the sides free of a conventional crown. The watch is fitted with a new Rochet two-piece brown leather strap and gold-colored steel buckle.

The silver dial has developed slight patina and a subtle champagne tone with age, adding to its vintage character. A small seconds subdial at 3 o’clock balances the power reserve indicator at 9 o’clock, creating the Futurematic’s distinctive dial layout.

Inside is the Swiss-made LeCoultre caliber 497, a 17-jewel bumper automatic movement that winds through wrist motion. The watch was cased and timed in the United States. Time is set by sliding the case back crown toward the center and rotating it; sliding it back toward the edge allows the movement to resume running.

We serviced this watch in February 2026 as part of a routine preventive overhaul. Nothing was broken, and no repairs were needed. During the service, the movement was fully disassembled, cleaned, lubricated, timed, and adjusted for accuracy. The watch is running well and functioning properly. It is backed by a one-year warranty through our store.
